A friend of mine who is a former bass player for Stonewall Jackson and Del Reeves had this to say about Vernon Oxford:
"Vernon told someone he had kids and had to feed'em, so he took him to RCA, right to Chets office,and Chet said, "we'' ll cut him". He still sounds the same. I think he wore a hearing aid,or maybe 2 and was workin a day job somewhere and pickin everwhere he could set in.... "

This is one great singer that got snubed by Nashville. He is one of the greatest singers i have ever heard and he deserves better than what he got.
