Obviously you haven't read his book "Calculating God" cause you wouldn't acusing him of being Science fundamentalist.

I appreciate his science fiction and his cultural analysis of the genre, but it's a pity he went public with a misunderstanding and misrepresentation of Christianity which has held to future re-embodiment in the resurrection and not eternal disembodiedness. And the idea that there is absolutely no evidence for theism or religious truth claims reveals a fundamentalist leaning every bit as problematic in its materialistic form as in the religious.
