BMW E36 V8 http://www.e36v8.com This is the first startup of my BMW E36 with a Ford 5.0 engine. It has functional EFI, a T5 five-speed, and bolted in with no hammering or hacking on the body. The engine uses regular Mustang headers turned around backwards to dump to the front. This is done to keep cost down, using a stock steering shaft and stock headers. I built a Y-pipe on the front of the engine (3" dia.) and will continue back with a single 3" exhaust. It has a single 3" pipe dumping with no muffler in this video.

  • This is blasphemy, a chevrolet engine in A BMW

  • umm all 2009- e90 m3 have a 400+ horse V8. The 2010- models have an optional DCT(dual clutch trans) which allows mind blowing 80ms shifts. My opinion on engine swaps is i want my engine to last as well as be able to go over 6k rpm......why would i put a ford motor in it? or any american made engine besides a corvette motor for that matter? believe it or not there IS a replacement for displacement. Its called good engineering.

  • hhmm what car stereo do you have, a grammaphone???

  • the whole point of the ford 5.0 swap is that its half as expensive as a m3 engine swap or a ls1/2 swap. bmw made some badass engines so did chev/ford you people need to get over it for fucks sake

  • @tokentreez and you have to spend a shit load of money for a bmw swap where this is so cheap and easy and parts are available. also it doesnt take much work for these engines to rev thru the roof.

  • Blow me , america v8 is better than the m3 motor, haha let me laugh before I choke. A 5.0 liter making the same power as a 3.2 . Where is your brain at mr any american v8 is better than the m3 motor

  • the haters prolly dont even own a wrench , cheers to European drivers finally understanding American torque

  • @foroyskirbilforarir its even worse its a old ford 5.0 motor, I respect LS1's

  • @foroyskirbilforarir HA!!!! 5.0 EFI is FORD! NOT Chevy. And any American V8 is better in that car than the straight six that comes in it. And the new M3's come stock with a new 418hp V8, so BMW also took to notice that a V8 suites these cars MUCH better than the M50 and M52 motors. Not so much Blasphemy.

  • all these people quick to talk about how much they know but dont even know a 5.0 is an iconic ford engine not chevy... think before you speak... besides its a fraction of the price of a bmw engine...

  • I GAVE A THUMB POINT DOWN TO THIS CRAP!!!

  • I think Ill do this to my 528E,, it has more room and the BMW engine has 242k on it and smokes... I have a 5.0 donor car,, they are cheaper for parts and well they do go fast in the Mustangs and Capri. I just dont find any information on putting the 5.0 in an 85 BMW 528e,,,,so maybe ill be the first, and Ill document. cheby motors overrated and are not that great, heavier, and bigger then the 302.
