  • I think emphasis should be put more on the control of the knife hand, as this is the most important thing. Plus If you miss, you shoulddefend yourself with the back of your arms, if he slashes at you and cuts you on the wrist then you could be done for, but if he gets you on the back of the arms then its just a cut. sorry for being so negative!

  • Don't worry about it, these are excellent comments, and anyone seriously thinking of defending themselves against a knife should consider them. I've heard and read comments like that before and believe them to be valid. Truth is, after seeing good knife fighters, my first response is to see how fast they are at running.

  • I totally agree with you, the attacker could of slashed the defender's arm and slash open the belly

  • The guy has no idea how to stop a knife attack! That move is not efficient!!!

  • Attack would not be so simple. Would be stabbing rapidly. As you tried the "transfer" to the other hand, he would just roll out, if you ever got that far in any case, and stab you four times before you knew hat happened. Also, that neck take down is just wholly unrealistic if resisted. GRAB the knife hand with both hands and DON'T let go. Stab him with his own knife.

  • Really need to lock in on that arm if the aggresor is exposing it that much. Reality, the attacker would pull the knife in and cut the exposed hand. Knife drags (unintentional cut that results from the knife being dragged across flesh while attempting to attack a differnt portion of the body) are easy and quick to do, they happen often in real fights. -b boy

  • or alternatively, apologising for insulting them and buying them a drink
