In my opinion, this is the number one chocolate chip cookie recipe of all time. It beats any chewy recipe I've found so I hope you love it too! Look for a blog entry w/ full recipe later today:

  • May I ask how many grams is in a stick of butter ? We don't really have those up here in Canada, or at least where I live, they might have them down south.

  • @vintagelovegal Hmmm...not sure in grams but it's half of a cup. Or eight tablespoons...

  • is bread flour the same as regular lour?

  • @MsMonster5150 bread flour typically doesnt have any leveners in it...no baking additives etc. It is not the same as 'all purpose' flour.

  • *gasp* I goofed, Ashley! First, I wrote down the ingredients, measurements, and directions. Then, I double-checked what I had written down. Now, I couldn't get the butter and brown sugar to thicken, but I didn't have a hand mixer (just a whisk and a KitchenAid). Could that be why I ended up with a thick, cakey cookie? They're delicious, but not chewy! P.S. I used real butter and bread flour.

  • @SmartSmartass haha! It sounds like you might have used baking powder instead of baking soda...if not, there might have been a glitch in one of your ingredients...keep trying and eating the 'practice' ones along the way. :)
