Just a photo tour of the garden thus far this year. We will be doing more videos in the future with more explanations as to why we are doing certain things but I thought a slide show was a good way to base line the progress for 2010.

The music is Where the Green Grass Grows by Tim McGraw

  • Nice garden, Jack.

What are you using as fertilizer in the containers?

  • @dallcoh

I use compost and miracle gro organic fertilizer, the general purpose version that comes in the orange bag. I love that stuff it is based mostly on poultry manure.

I tend to use a bit of blood meal to boost nitrogen for corn and stuff that needs it but I just use compost with a bit of organic fertilizer boost for most container stuff.

  • I am so jealous.

  • I have a family of 5. I often wonder how much food you require to feed them. When you do the maths with the calories required to feed 5 it becomes a bit scary.

  • cool stuff

  • Great video Jack. It's great to see everything you've done. You really motivate me to do the same!

  • I'm not one for country but I like this song and the garden is truly inspirational!

  • just a heads up jack, my mother in law says your "nasiturm" are nasturtiums... i don't know the difference but i find nothing on google when i look up nasiturm.

    good photo tour nonetheless. thanks

  • what a great variety of plants and they all look very healthy. Seems like you prefer container gardening. Is that because you plan on moving so you can easily transport/transplant them to your new place?

  • Awesome to see the pics of things I always hear you're working on Jack. Very motivating.

  • Wow, great garden. Awesome song too. I don't generally listen to country so this song is new to me.

Have you ever made or used compost tea?
