A Louis Heinrici type hot air engine drives a 1920 Lorch Schmidt watch makers lathe. The hot air engine is a free reproduction of the original engine from 1905.

  • @darkstarthug You just love to be a joykill, don't you?

You know, they didn't have electric motors way back. This is way more interesting than seeing yet another electric motor powered lathe.. there's plenty of them.

My hats off to the uploader-turner, who does things in a much more interesting way :) Loved to see this. Thanks!

  • what a piece of junk, get a real electrical motor like a 3 phase industrial motor that wouldn't take up so much space, and have more hp and wouldnt be as lould

If there is no electricity available, you have to think about a alternative power source.
