Kathayariyathe

Kathayariyathe is a 1981 Malayalam language film. It was directed by Mohan. The plot revolves around Vishwanatha Menon and Vishnu. Vishwanatha is happily married to Geetha and have btwo kids named Shaji and Usha. Vishnu is a lonely widower who joins as a the new manager in the company that Vishwanatha Menon works. Vishwanatha and Geetha take in Vishnu as a friend. They are all happy together but trouble comes when Vishnu and Geetha are attracted towards each other. Their respective worlds shatter. The rest of the plot is about how the family degenrates into a sad and bitter bunch of people. The movie has amazing performance by M.G. Soman as the trustful and dutiful Vishwanatha Menon, Sukumaran as the loney widower who is sweet and has inherent vices that shatter Usha's life; Srividya as Geetha is believable , Rani Padmini as the daughter whose transgression from happy teen to bitter one is commendable. A plot that speaks of itself and performances that adds the value to it.
