NOHAB-built, former Danish State Railways (DSB), GM-powered diesel locomotive conducting load trials with a scheduled container goods train on the steep gradients of Cowan Bank near Hawkesbury River, north of Sydney, NSW, Australia. 11-Oct-06.

The train locomotive, Goodwin-Alco built 4497 and the rear 'banking' locomotive, Goninan-built 4717, were not providing power during this load trial.

THIS IS THE UN-EDITED VERSION. A higher-quality edited version of this clip is also uploaded (in AVI).

  • nohab is made in sweden

  • @SuperTrobe NOHAB is a Swedish company - Nydqvist & Holm AB.

  • Great vid !

Typical danish leadership, selling good stuff, and buying cheap italian junk for release.

MZ, MY, MX - all our fine GMs are running all over the world, while we are doing something for the CO2 outlet by running all our freight on rubber wheels instead !

But it looks as if Your diesel is not really friendly to the environment... ;-)

  • Send more Danish locos. We need to have all of your locos. You don't need them.

In this vid, our locos are very friendly to the environment; they are doing nothing ... nothing at all. No emissions, nothing! Very, very friendly :-)

  • the old girl is burning a bit of oil there

  • She must have picked up that smoking habit down there. In Denmark, it was not as bad.

  • Yes, but the Danes don't like to admit it.

  • built in Sweden

  • Noooo ... we'll keep our slim 'n' fit women, thank you very much!

  • This is how we treat all of our pensioners here! And you thought Australia was just a land of cuddly koalas and cute kangaroos, HA!

Here, all ageing immigrants are expected to work in their golden years! Send us all of your women ... and your locomotives. Only here will they learn the meaning of work. Muahahaha!
