The next generation of consumer and enterprise handsets is being built with Near Field Communication (NFC) capability. This technology allows a user to read and write to a barcode and will allow purchases to be made with a mobile phone. This technology has been cumbersome and costly in the past but with it now coming standard on all devices organizations need to begin thinking about how they can utilize it in their business. Steve Reynolds, CEO of TBS Enterprise Mobility, describes the business implications of NFC technology and how it might be leveraged to further streamline processes. He encourages organizations to begin looking at strategies to incorporate NFC into their enterprise mobility solution.
