hingis played little girl tennis: running around as a horse ... noone's been playing that tennis for a long time

hingis tried everything: drugs, PUBLICITY IN ORDERED STALKING TRIAL WHICH SHE USED TO GET BIG MONEY FROM HER INSURANCE, getting more big money suing her sponsors, etc other crap

she is rotten!

Hingis ruined her own career -not the injuries (although that helped). She got shut out when she became a crack/cocaine addict! She tested positive in 07 remember!

I think normally every man in the top 100 would beat every woman who plays. just because they all hit the balls harder than woman possibly can.. due to physiology, male hormones and the way there body is build.
also what you say about women hitting the ball maybe better dan males do.. it's always easier to place a ball when it comes to you at less speed.. maybe technically they are even, but the power will always outweight in favor of men.

I completely agree with your analysis. My point was to compare the top 30 college men with top 30 women. I had this debate with another person who said the top 30 women would win against the college guys. My point was that even if the women were more solid than the college players from the baseline, they would lose because of the serve. Watching the women, their serves are way below the men's, even a high 4.5, low 5.0. The serve is why Serena is able to dominate.

Hingis had great touch and feel for the court..but in the end, she couldn't compete with the big guns. THAT's part of the reason she retired..oh, and that pesky positive cocaine test...

Injuries are part of the game. What your saying about her ankle problems is a weakness in her arsenal. Look at a few of the true greats and you notice few injuries: Sampras, Agassi, Federer, Laver, Lendl, Connors, Rosewall, Edberg, Graf, Rafter, Navratilova, Evert, Borg (no physical issues), Seles (only issue was the stabbing), etc.

As far as Nadal, we'll have to see how injuries will shorten his career.

Bottom line, Hingis had a fragile body and that should be counted against her.

I meant the top 30 men's college players.
