tostentwo, that is the best comment ive read ever. So awesome how this music has transcended generations, I'm only 24 but I think Stephen Stills is one of the best guitar players to grace this land. So awesome that you got to experience those times man.

I was born in 1950 and have loved this song since it was recorded. Throughout much personal sorrow, I have never been suicidal, that would mean the bastards win LOL. However, the line that ends this song "and I find myself just wishing that my life would simply cease", is so deep and rare that it belongs in poetry and philosophy.

@sundowner108 im sorry actually you are right it was a career decision for her to miss woodstock what i said was just a popular rumor... i think it was a major bummer for her to miss it though
-
@sundowner108 she missed woodstock because james taylor was supposed to give her a ride and he crashed on his motorcycle bad

joni is in a trance thoughout the song

@susanmyrhl Quite perceptive. This was taped on the Dick Cavett Show a few days after Woodstock on the band's way back as the description suggests. Joni Mitchell (who never make it to Woodstock) was Graham Nash's girlfriend at the time and is sitting beside Stephen.
-
I believe that is Dick Cavett's voice in the beginning, talking with Stills before he begins to play, I would bet that this is from the Dick Cavett show, not Woodstock.

oh, how I would like to born in 50's to live this sounds and those years!!!

There are many talented musicians like this out in the world, the difference is that they don´t receive or choose not to have any media attention. Go out and listen to "nobody´s"
