The DTS One Touch Tuning System is a revolutionary product to help drummers spend less time tuning and more time playing. Once installed, I believe this is true. This has been my most challenging review as this product has a lot of parts / components and is difficult to explain. I could have produced an hour long video for this tuning system, but in under 15 minutes (Youtube Limit) this is all that I could do. I recommend this if you have the money and want to accessorize your drum kit.

  • Does it work on snare drums?

  • @ACDCman1727 Yes, it works on snares, but not really recommended.. Snares require that special touch of a drum key to tune. Plus, snares are a higher tension, and it may be difficult to get that with the DTS.

  • Eric, once you have these on, I see that it can speed up considerably the tuning process.. But with the time it took you to start to find the resonance of the drum itself, in terms of initially placing the DTS on the drum and then beginning the tuning process itself, it looks to me like it's almost quicker with a key. Did you try and compare standard key tuning a new head setup with tuning new heads with new DTS?

  • @l3thDisciple Hi - the video is more of a demonstration and a tech detail on what's happening. Once you get familiar with the DTS, it usually goes on and tunes up really quickly. The one thing I will recommend is making sure your tension rods are as loose as they can be without the DTS brackets falling off. Make sure there's enough room in the tensioner bracket to tune high enough... I have set these up before and had not enough room to tighten the head up... had to redo it.

  • Wich is better or more efficient?????.. DTS Tunning system or Drumdial? :/

  • I'm sure the results are good, but wow you may as well just learn how to tune by ear, what happens if you go out of tune during a gig?

  • Use your ears man and forget about all that so called hi-tech crap. One thing is that the reason it seems your getting different tensions is that you're placing the drum dial randomly. You need to place it the exact same distance from each tuning lug to compare tensions at the different lugs. It should come with a metal piece that keeps the center of the dial equal distance from the edge. But again; better to use your ears to get the lugs sounding the same not to mention finding the best pitch.

  • this is really cool! I'm surprised by all the hate on this video, I think this is a fantastic idea and I would love to see companies include this option on kits.

  • gotta say, with the time it takes this to work, id much rather use a torque key, its quick, fairly accurate cheap and no risk to your drums

  • Yay 4 EC2s!

  • @Puff29646. I totally agree, each drum is different anyway, your ears will tell you that if you know what your doing, leave tuners and gizmos to guitar techs, as a Drummer and Drum Tech I have never used a tuner or gizmo in my life My ears tell me what is right or wrong, wanna hear my Tuning? watch Airbourne live from 2009 onwards, thats my Tuning!.

  • They don't even sound that great

  • Ec2 heads are so fucking hard to tune.

  • Are you fucking kidding me? Looks like a real good way to fuck up a drum kit; lugs, shells and all! I suggest learning something of physics and engineering before using this lame, half ass short cut! If you are to lazy to turn the lugs then you don't need to be playing drums.

  • This system is good for getting the heads to approximately where you want them to be, but then you have to fine tune them anyway. A drum dial can do that without all the stuff.
