See, you don't get intros like this anymore. One of the reasons why the 80s cartoons rule and dominate anything you get now, they just had this great feeling. Defenders, Duckula, Bucky O Hare, Turtles, Transformers, Ghostbusters, Inspector Gadget, Bravestarr, Captain Planet, Chip N Dale, Teddy Ruxpin, Thundercats, Dangermouse, Superted, Stoppit and Tidyup, Will O the Wisp, Mr Benn, Jayce, He-Man, Dungeons and Dragons, Ducktales...

I woke up singing this the other day after not seeing it for 17 years. These theme songs were incredible. They sure beat the shit that's around now. Thundercats, G-Force, Original X-Men, Bravestar, Galaxy Rangers, Dangermouse, Ducktales, all of them had epic openings which had you hyped for the show. I can't believe the shit they are feeding kids right now. Poor watered down cell shaded animation and some don't even have theme songs or anything you would remember years down the road.

You say that, but remember that the "new" generation that watches the new cartoon shows of today will likely adopt the same opinions another generation down the line that you're displaying here. Think about it.

This is after my time, but I like The Phantom and read his exploits in the paper, and it's cool to see a cartoon of him.

I think essentially they stole their concept from weird metal and Japanese show openings, which are works of art in their own right. Nowadays most American shows have sort of gone with their own ingenuity, which is not really so hot.
