@TheMutification Visigoths preserved the romanesque culture alive , also when they sacked rome they did not destroyed books , on the contrary they preserved them , also they respected churches and temples (written by many roman historians) also they had a written language (besides the runic from earlier) bishop Wulfilas wrote the first non greek/latin translation of the bible , and lord behold it actual laws , the lex visigothorum , were they even allowed females to inherit. @fritigoerd Visigoths were a savage nomadic people, they were being persecuted by Romans. Would they perserve Roman technology? The answer is no. In fact they destroyed much of the Roman libraries which they encountered and much of that ancient knowledge was never found again.

What about the destruction of the visigothic culture by Islam????? The Roman advancements (in culture /art etc) were preserved by the visigoths , not brought by muslims

Huge numbers of Arab muslims came to spain and caused it to flourish, they brought whole fo arabia to spain, islam was their drive, they improved peoples lives, and created the renaissance, never have any 'invaders' done so much for a country. Other invaders only took, even British imperialism only took from other countries and cultures, the muslims actually gave back to the places they settled in and took europe out of the dark ages.We owe everything in the West to muslims.

So much hidden history behind past European bigotry. Interesting how term moors is used to imply they were foreigners, 70% of inhabitants of spain over time converted to islam. So it was a muslim country of various ethnic mix. But the Catholic militants invaded and forcefully killed&converted muslims&jews, claimed the incredible renaissance as their own, destroyd the multi cultural civilisation of the muslims&burnt over 1million books, turning every mosque into gothic cathedrals we see today.
