Awesome Blacktip Reef Shark Attack on Fish Shoal at Kuredu Island Maldives ... Epic Heron Fail

Taken while on honeymoon at Kuredu Island Resort in the Maldives. After many lovely comments we're getting closer to identifying the fish which are attacking the shoal. It seems they the aren't the blacktip reef sharks I once thought they were (update: they are Bluefin Travellys). Although they are featured in my other video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KasJjuuaCiM).
As you can hear from the gasps, we weren't expecting this to happen! The squadron-like attack from the top is impressive and shows how they hunt in groups. Then the heron fails to catch a stunned fish. Well worth a replay - keep eyes at top of video!

Some people don't pay much attention to the simpler things like this, and some people just don't care. I could watch something like this all day.

Love it, very good footage. I love seeing shoals of fish do this. They're swarming around the sharks in order to confuse them so that the majority can survive by ensuring that there are no stragglers :P like the poor little one that was almost heron food. I would love to see this.. The water is so clear. it must have been an amazing trip.

Take some weeks at kuredu and your chanse is big to see this. Go to the jety with the seavillas on lov tide.
