Mas takes time out after his MAG-40 to describe what IDPA is all about.

The red flash before the yellow flash in the slow motion is not retouched - not sure what caused it, but I thought it was kind of cool.

Thanks for watching, and thanks to Mas for his generosity!

  • I won't play a game where I'm not allowed to keep my pistol loaded.

I had a student a year ago who was big into IDPA. He had good skills, but I couldn't get him to keep his pistol loaded. You have to watch the neural pathways that you are burning. Watch videos of how smooth and quickly, without thinking, Jerry Mickulek and Todd Jarret can clear their weapons...

  • @vigunfighter Mickulek and Jarret are machines, lol.

  • IDPA can be played a sports competition or a scenario based training system for self defense. All depends on how you want to treat it. It can be as real as you make it or it can be just another sport.

  • @thebugoutguy nicely stated!

  • @vigunfighter That's the dumbest reason to not play a gun game I've ever heard. Training scars exist and are something to watch out for, but being proficient at safely unloading and clearing a firearm is not one of them. There's nothing preventing the shooter from scanning the scenario and providing a mental break between shooting and unloading.

You not being able to get a student to keep his carry gun loaded is indicative of a poor mindset, not training scars.

  • @vigunfighter

I think you missed the point. Clearing is just for safety during an event with lots of people. It's like that in a lot of places. Your friend not carrying loaded has nothing to do with IDPA....but bad mentality....and can come from a lot of places.

  • IDPA and USPSA are both SPORTS not training. When you have to agaonize about a milllion little rules it has evolved from training to a sport. IDPA has so many rules it is not funny.

  • @TheFirearmEnthusiast Wow! what is up with the 2 original English-speaking countries? They have lost their minds in all the liberalism of the modern world. I though no guns and carry knives in England was bad enough, but it seems that the disease has spread to Australia...

  • @drzmanproject Thanks, btw those two seats that we're looking for belong to The Shooters and Fishers Party. We already have two seats at the moment, the shooting sport is definitely growing here lol.

  • @TheFirearmEnthusiast wow, hope you get those 2 seats!
