Zurcon® Buffer Seal, used as a tandem rod sealing element, protects systems from pressure peaks in hydraulic sealing applications. This makes it an optimum solution for heavy-duty mobile and industrial hydraulic applications.
The complex geometry of the seal is produced in Turcon® , Trelleborg Sealing Solutions proprietary PTFE based material, or Zurcon®, its proprietary polyurethane. The seals highly flexible static lip is optimized to relieve inter-stage pressure, while its dynamic lip is designed to work at high pressure, minimizing friction and ensuring back-pumping. Radial slots avoid the risk of blow-by and radial channels facilitate back-pumping and pressure relieving capability.
With proven performance under high pressure for extended periods, the Zurcon® Buffer Seal has a long service life, minimizing maintenance and downtime. Typical applications for Zurcon® Buffer Seal are earth moving equipment, agricultural machinery and boom extension cylinders.
