Tobey is a good actor for the younger audience like teenagers. He just does not got the look to be a mean person.

Just a guess - missed film - but I think in Tobey's case it may be bad casting, not bad acting. He has been more than good in certain roles - Seabiscuit, WonderBoys, 2 examples. Perhaps he was put in here to get Spiderman audiences interested - Big miscalculation by somebody, I would also guess.

wow. i thought tobey maguire was good in the cider house rules but wen ur up against cate blanchett u just gotta step ur game up. he really ruined that scene and im guessing the whole movie. wen cates around other good actors like in the aviator its easy to take for granted how gifted she is...untill u remove leo and add tobey. shes ten times the actor he is. or will probs ever be.
