@Infantry1982 the number 2 hugs the number 1 because the safest place to be is as close to that weapon as possible when firing. The force of the round going off is soo intense that it sucks the air out of your lungs. If your head is not up against the tube when it is fired; it'll make your brain feel like it's getting squished. You don't need stability...there is literally no kick to it....feels more like a vibration when it goes off....it's all about keeping your head from getting rattled.

I loved firing this. Great Weapon. Got to fire a few HE and HEAT rounds!!

why does the assistant gunner hug the gunner when he fires? Stability?

I remember fireing this nice piece of kit, felt like getting kicked in the head and set fire to the undergrowth behind us.
loved running with it, a lot more comfortable than a GPMG.

Gustav Noobs

CG is a pain to carry around whereas the RPG is relatively light... but the CG is just awesome incarnate

This was introduced to us as the weapon where you could feel your nuts growing everytime you fired it ^^
I'm stunned how precise that actually was :D

Actually ... it does.. kind of:
FFV551 is the primary HEAT round and is a rocket-assisted projectile (RAP). The same concept goes for FFV651, which even though its still classified as a recoilless rifle actually blurs the lines.

The Carl Gustav is not a RPG, it is a recoil-less rifle, the grenade have no rocket stage.
Wow takes me back... what a kick seeing this and remembering firing the 84mm.
Bitch to carry but boy worth the fun when fired

The Carl Gustav is more versatile and have a wider variety of shell types such as HE anti personel with airburst option, HEDP, illumination, smoke and of course HEAT but in the armour piercing abilities the two weapons aren't that dissimilar.
In my opinion the Carl Gustav is the better of the two.
