Two horse crashes in SouthAmerica in only two weeks

Two "silly" crashes happend in South America. Argentinean rally car driver, Federico Villagra, was involved in a horrifying crash with a horse, after it was catapulted 30 feet into the air when it wandered into the path of his speeding car in South America.

Footage of the crash, which occurred during a stage of the Argentine Rally in General Roca on Monday, shows Villagra slamming his Mitsubishi Evo straight into the jet black horse.

The horse, which had wandered on to the dirt track, was somersaulted in the air and later put down due to its serious injuries.

The footage from a camera inside the rally car shows the speed which the incident occurred.

The driver and navigator can be seen working together as the car accelerates out of a corner.

A split second later the horse appears and hits the cars front, smashing its windshield with Villagra struggling to control the car.

Another two horses that had wandered onto the track were missed by inches.

Miraculously Villagra and his navigator, escaped injury, the Los Andes newspaper, in Argentina reported.

Despite the car being clearly damaged, the shocked pair continued driving, with the incident only costing them 30 seconds of time during the race.

"I was surprised that some horses crossed," the Argentine driver told reporters at the end of the stage.

"It hit the windshield and flew over the car."

He said he was "fortunate" to have come out of the crash unscathed.

Experts say wild horses are often a hazard for rally drivers in the Rio Negro, north Argentina.
