Those were Bill Maher's opinions before any of the information you talk about was available.
Ask him what he thinks now that we know about the torture and capturing of the innocents and you'd get a different response.

This was done BEFORE any of us knew anything about the torturing that went on in there, and the capturing of the innocents.
Only the President and the CIA and the FBI and the Army knew.

He doesn't talk about how many innocent people were incarcerated for years without access to a lawyer or to anyone at all; then released without so much as an apology or a hearing when it was discovered the U.S. grabbed the wrong person. Maher is sounding like a rabid Bill O'Reilly here. Quite a surprising flip, and somewhat hypocritical...

Pretty ignorant and overly-simplistic, but he's a comedian, not a scholar. I generally like him tho.

Kill them all, let God sort them out!

You need to watch the full show to get his views. I've been looking for it here, but not been able to find it.
Some of them aren't terrorists that is where they hold "enemies of the state" that could include anyone that Bush deems as an "enemy of the state"

Actually I was surprised about Mahers opinion about the prisoners in Guantanamo. If they are terrorits why does the government let some go from time to time? And if they are innocent how can you excuse to strip somebody of all basic human rights for over 2 years? If you want to be better than Bin Laden you have to stand by your principles!
