In around 480 BC at the battle of Thermopylae, the army of the city state of Sparta, held off the Persian army lead by Xerxes; said to possibly have as many as 2 million men. The Spartans only numbered 300.

i hate people who have to go into "accuracy and HISTORICAL TRUTH" it's a movie it's sole purpose is to entertain and amuse ,and pass down the story of how few stood against many.

You never see them showing the amazing battles Persians won over their enemies while outgunned and outnumbered. There are too many to speak of. Also, come on.. Seriously? You can't expect to make a movie about Persians being straight up black people, while they were actually light-skinned and have nobody say anything about it! If you wish to make a movie for only entertainment, then you wouldn't call these greeks and them Persians. At that point, your fucking with history.

the film is being told in the form of story being retold to inspire the spartan leadership to go to war ,hence he is making the story more epic ,its the spartan who lost an eye (he was sent to tell the story because he was the best speaker)

can't some people just enjoy a fucking MOVIE without trying to make some post showing how "smart" they think they are? there will never, NEVER be a movie made that will properly represent history according to the books we have. who says those books are even correct? one thing to remember, the history of any war is written by the "winners', so naturally they will have a biased viewpoint. just the way it is, get over it.

excuse me for redundancy but when I say "Persians dominated Persian leadership," I meant "Persians (ethnic group) dominated Persian (empirical) leadership," which is why it was called Persia. Romans were not an ethnic group, rather they are the people who inhabit the city of Rome.
