This is the twenty-first question in my series "Tough Questions: For Jehovah's Witnesses". This question is the first in a four part series regarding cult properties. This question is behavior control.

  • You obviously did some research before asking the questions. You used terminology such as "the faithful and discreet slave, worldly" All religions have ideas and practices we see as strange. All religions have bad apples. Focus on that. I see where you are going with these videos and it is not as clever or thought provoking as you think. These are the same questions everyone asks.

  • @lee1977 I was raised a JW. OK so if all religions have strange practices and all have bad apples, then we really have no reason to leave any religion. We should just wait on God to fix them right? Why don't you just become a catholic then?

  • ohhhh i got it, you are upset because a JW girl will not date you, i am so sorry to know that...you see i was told that is you have this hate for JW. so Sad....

  • @sanchez1793 Oh cool so we get to make up stuff, I'm so sorry to hear that you're gay and love getting bukkake all over your face every night from three or four different men. Still did this whole series for my daughter, never asked out a JW girl, never cared to. Got married when I was 21 to my first girlfriend and am still married nearly 10 years later.

  • When the Great Tribulation starts and they turn on religions are you going to quickly try delete these apostate videos your posting as quickly as you can? well dont bother its too late Jehovah is well aware of your tarnishing his name. so sad.

  • @iluvrnb1 You should really read comments here before commenting, this little mini-series I made was specifically to gain proof to show that JWs weren't a cult. Though you find it necessary to call me names for this?

  • (cont.) So to you JW's that are watching, instead of criticizing the video for asking REAL LEGITIMATE QUESTIONS, perhaps you should look at yourself and how seriously you take the organizations counsel. The fact that you are here and giving this "apostate" thinking even a second glance shows that you are questioning the validity of the organization's claims, even if you don't realize it. So, hopefully this will result in your opening your eyes and using logic for once in your life.

  • I just want to say one thing. I was raised a JW, I am agnostic now. I know a thing or two about the faithful and discreet slave and their rules. I just want to say that any JW watching this video, according to the organization, has committed a terrible sin. Every assembly I've attended since birth warned that anyone giving apostate messages, such as this video would be considered by the slave, even the slightest attention is in effect inviting Satan into their minds....

  • qualities. And worshipers of god, reside in god's house, so to speak. And in the house of god, there are certain rules. If you disagree, simply read the entire bible. Anyway, dressing, grooming, behavior etc, have been regulated by god since humans existed. Just look at the Garden of Eden for instance.

  • BTW, you mentioned that you have a new born daughter, belated congrats. Is it safe to assume that your house will have some rules? Like how she dresses, does her hair and behaves? And if you did require certain rules, would your next door neighbor say, have the right to say tell you how to raise your daughter? And if you disagreed, would it be right for them to profile your household as one that "control's behavior?" Just asking cuz jw's consider their members are worshipers of god, having his..

  • the military is a cult?

  • Based on your definition of the properties of a cult, the military fits in quite well. For the most part, people respect the military for all the reasons you mentioned in your questions. Thousands enlist in the military knowing their behavior will be controlled, yet all go voluntarily, at least in the USA. Technically, Jehovah's witnesses fit perfectly into the cult profile. Yet most, subject themselves willingly like soldiers do. So here's my question Tim, based on your definition, do you think

  • the way a jw come to the door is fake and generic i would rather a regular person on the street come to me then a dressed up person at my door to me it would be more natural and they would seem more friendly not like jw who come at the door like sales people its not suppose to be like that the spirit should move us to preach to people .not wake up every saturday and preach its so fake
