  • Basic guideline for motor rpm is 30 rpm per 1.0 cycle (Hertz) for a 1800 rpm no load speed (1725 Loaded) motor and 30 rpm per 0.5 cycle (Hertz) for a 3600 no load speed (3450 Loaded). So for example if you set your VFD to 1.0HZ your motor shaft should make 30 complete revolotions in a 1 minute time frame if its a 1725 rpm rating.

In your case if the motor is running on a frequency of 110Hz x 30 (rpm at 1 hz) your motor is running at 3300 rpm.

    Nice video by the way!

  • @puttz1976 ah I see thank you for telling me that learnd something new and the green motor the 1hp 3 phase is going to be used on a Dayton High Pressure Direct Drive Radial Blade Blower i got off ebay for a dust collector for my shop but the blower must be ruing at 3450 rpms.

  • @puttz1976 Actually the unloaded speed will be somewhere between the synchronous (stator magnetic field) speed (1,800rev/min for a 4 pole motor, 3,600rev/min for a 2 pole motor, etc.) and the rated load speed. Induction motors can never normally run at their synchronous speed.
