what other colors and markings do malamutes come in besides what the akc accepts?

Basically, the colors range from pure white to black and white, gray, burgundy, red and so on. But the markings are are usually the same as you see in our videos. Most of those dogs in the video are pure breed. In regards to the akc standards- those are just standards that judges use to score points for dog shows. They don't represent the breed as a whole-particularly the akc "preferred freight size".

In Alaska's arctic, it can get down to -100 degrees fahrenheit with the wind chill. Snow depth in the arctic is anywhere from 1 to 4 feet depending on the location. A lot of the snow that actually falls gets blown away by the wind.
