A tune by the great Wes Montgomery.
This video is a test. I have recently purchased a Zoom H2 portable recorder and I was pleased to hear it does a fairly decent job of recording my acoustic piano. I had read that you can tweak the bitrate settings on the YT upload and make your own .flv file in stereo so that's what I've done here. Unfortunately, the video frame rate has to be at 15 fps instead of the usual 30 add to that the frame size is shrunk so the video quality suffers. It does sound better than mono but this is just a test, so I guess it depends on the feedback as to whether I decide to try this again. For my "instructional" videos I will continue to keep them in mono as the visual is of utmost importance, but in these "fun jams", not as much.
The backing track is another one from Aebersold and actually, is only in mono, so only the piano is in stereo.
When I play a tune like this - a 3/4 swing at this tempo - I try to maintain a strong swing feel by accenting certain notes in my phrasing. I also play behind the beat in parts and push the beat in others, sometimes playing behind in the RH while pushing the LH. My rhythmic meanderings sometimes get me in trouble as they do in this tune and I actually turn the beat around towards the end for several measures until I find my way back. All's well that ends well. ;-)
Man, you rock!!

Very enjoyable. I love my Zoom H2 and have just spent a day recording ambient sound to use as fly tracks for videos. So I just happened across your work by chance... Oh, Happy Day. Thankyou
