The Garvan Institute celebrates their scientific and medical achievements of 2007. Interviews include:

Dr Sam Hocking who studies the link between obesity and insulin resistance in relation to type 2 diabetes.

Dr Robert Brink, an immunobiologist, who studies the immune system to understand how it goes wrong in lupus & rheumatoid arthritis.

Dr Shane Grey of the Autoimmunity Group studying Type 1 Diabetes.

Dr Sandra O'Toole of the Breast Cancer Group studying the genealogy of the development of breast cancer.

Jennifer Hansen a Pituitary Research Nurse describes her involvement between the research at Garvan and the close relationship with St Vincent's Hospital.

Associate Professor Tuan Nguyen of the Bone & Mineral Program studies the genealogy associated with bone fracture.

Dr Kharen Doyle studies olfactory stem cells in the hope to use them as therapy for Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease.
