He looks lean not really ribby, Doc my TB is blind and keeping weight on his is hard too. I look at the coat and feet more than the ribs, his coat is glossy and gorgeous his feet look well kept ergo he is well taken care of!
I understand where you are coming from =D but you have a point but if you use anything from a halter to a curb or snaffle or whatever he does the same xD i will tell my friend though to lighten up. thank you for commenting.
From what is appears he is in a curb bit. It is best to be a bit more gentle on the pressure when working in one. I know you were attempting something for the camera, , but curbs are leverage bits which means every little bit of pressure you put on them they put much more on the horses mouth (which is why you ride them in such a light contact) This is why he is flipping his head violently more than moving his body, he is not sure how to get away from the excessive pressure in his mouth.
