  • If every country with a military gave a fixed percentage of its forces to the UN, this organization wouldn't be so useless.

Why? What makes your problems more important?

  • What would the human right people say if the UN peacekeepers adopt a robust approaches against the rebel to protect the civilians? Would it become another violation of the so-called "sound human right connotation?

  • "UN Peacekeepers can use force in order to protect people" than why didn't those useless buggers do that in Rwanda?! Or in Bosnia?!

  • TheAndrew : i totally agree, their peacekeeping missions are a giant waste of money, and the whole institution is run by haggling do-nothings who postulate on everything until eventually everybody dies.

  • The UN should be torn down and replaced with a Starbucks. What conflict has the UN prevented? None. In the Middle East, the Arab armies drove around them to attack Israel. They couldn't stop the genocide in Rwanda either, or in the Balkans, or anywhere on the planet. What does the UN stand for? -Usually Nothing

  • good report. I'd have to say there needs to be some way charge for being in the un and on he sercuriy council. you take that money and take it to support these missions. The congo will always be a problem though.

  • The UN is an essential part of the modern world and I think its a great organization, but its system of peace-keeping is an out-dated and ineffective system of defensive action made with an insufficient amount of troops, equipment, and funding, it should take on a much more agressive strategy, and I think there should be a mandatory amount of troops, supplies, and funding that must be supplied to the UN by the permanent members Security Council

  • Why do they have ak's with no clipp?

  • people here are facing genocide. HUGE difference.
