A hymn transcribed for the acoustic guitar by John Fahey and played also by Leo Kottke.

I put on a new set of strings for this to try to extract maximum tone, which the piece deserves. Martin SP phosphor bronze 13-56. Slightly heavier than I normally play but they sure ring some.

    you might try some medium cryogenic strings, i'm finding already they have a nice pop, and I have read the cryo's hold up a long while, although I've only had them on a week....best regards cj

  • @bopbopbobert Hi, the guitar is made by a Canadian company, Larrivee. The model is a SD-50. It's a mahogany front and back and although it's a slope shouldered dreadnought it has a 1 7/8" nut which makes it suitable for finger style. Thanks for the compliment. All the best. Pete

  • Bravo! I fell in love with that tune immediately upon hearing the Kottke album Greenhouse low these many years ago. Well before the internet I tried to identify the words and had an Episcopalian friend who copied the text from his hymnal. So now with a new 12-string guitar in hand and your helpful video, and some 40 years later, I will learn this thanks to you! Thanks for the visual...
