All started as a regular brazilian semi-finals, but that one would be different when both presidents of Corinthians and Fluminense had a argue about who would prevail, Fluminense had a football machine, they were called "Steamroller" because they would simply go over anyone who tryed to reckon with. Corinthians was a stronger team with less technique, Rivelino was playing for the Rio de Janeiro side after being raised and winning 70's World Cup in Corinthians.

After a verbal dispute both presidents had a bet and Fluminense's president gave half of the tickets to Corinthians' president Vicente Matheus to see if the fans of the Timão could really divide Maracanã, not only that they bought some of Flu's tickets when in Rio already.

Those in attendance participated in the biggest human displacement in peace time, according to the Guinness Book of Records.
