Since the TLC5940 can only output 120ma per channel, does that mean your LEDs are running dimmer than their potential? The only 3w RGB LEDs I could find are rated for 300ma+.

this is amazing, any chance of you posting a schematic??

how big is it? i can't figure it from the video.
I'm gonna build some projectors to use in a pub for shows. how many leds per projector do you advice to use to have a decent lighting?

The lamp in the video is 3meters wide and the hight is about 1.50m...
I just inserted 5 RGB leds to get the rainbow-effect.
My circuit is really simple and dirty built on a festival...
If I can help you with some code, let me know.
The TLC5940 is really great for lightning solutions. It handles the constant current up to 120mA for 16channels, each can be 12bit PWMdimmed...

After it ran with 5mm LEDs I added ULN2003 TransistorArrays to run the 1W Leds (with some HighCurrent-resistors to get the right current)
To invert the signal for the transistorArray, I added 74HC04 HexInverters between the TLC and ULN.
That's it :-)
