sir nic, i was saying, in not so many words, that now that i've heard 'pelican' that i realize that the biggest problem i have with today's music is that i usually don't like the vocals. that's all.

@jacklazzell I know you're not addressing me, but what the fuck is wrong with rap? It's no worse than other genres. I love Pelican. I also love Das Racist. One is post-rock, one is a rap group.

I don't use drugs, but generally you don't "depend" on weed to like the music you're hearing. It merely enhances the experience.

This is great i am thankful i stumbled upon this i never listened to metal. Throughout high school got mixed in to listening rap like everyone else. But past 3-5 years been listening to Goa trance and psychedelic trance and beginning to love metal and all forms of rock. Awesome song.

.......your completely missing the point of the song..... I'm a jazz/avant garde musician/composer. What the drummer is doing is something called a rubato, played out of time. In fact in classical the lead plays a rubato usually because they are nervous as hell. Stravinsky used a Rubato in the beginning of Rite of Spring if you need an example. Metal drumming is very technical, but at the same time mechanical. You are an hilarious musician if you did not understand the drumming.
