  • ya he's a monster.. any account of his max back squat, projected max etc? i mean those double's dont look too hard..

  • @adarqui

In 2003 he was asked what his Max Back Squat was and he said it was 400 kilos (880 lbs). He said after squatting that much he did not need to go any farther that he had more than enough leg strength. The back squat is an assistance exercises for Weightlifters not their main focus. Lifting more in the Snatch and Clean & Jerk is.

  • @ajayalmighty he was unbeatable in weightlifting, why would he go to powerlifting

  • Im sure if he had turned to power lifting he'd have been unbeatable

  • @eowdaoc you cant tell if he has short femurs from this vid. is thick ass thighs will make him look stubbier even if he is still fairly long

  • i envy the short femurs

  • He is built Perfect for weightlifting!

  • his femurs are so short

  • yep, olympic weightlifters are stronger and don't need 2 other guys to do the exercise.

  • simple really. olympic lifters are generally much stronger squatters than powerlifters.

  • @yatinshams Makes sense, since power in athletics is defined as speed times strength; i.e. being able to apply lots of strength over a quick movement. Powerlifters typically have slower, controlled movements.

  • there are studies that have compared power outputs and strength levels of athletes from both o lifting and powerlifting. They found even though powerlifters in general had bigger squats and deadliest (squat powerlifting style compared to olympic lifting style does add bias in my opinion), the power output of olympic lifters is through the roof!!!... they had much higher verticals, flexibility is better in olympic lifters and olympic lifting translates well to all sports
