  • @dinger454 The Beatles had the media behind them plus they didn't tour like Queen did. The Beatles were able to produce more records because they toured less. I like the Beatles but I agree, Queen were definitely more talented.

What makes me mad is when I hear the same people mentioned when talking about greatness. If you combine voice, stage presence and songwriting, Freddie beats Elvis, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney and John Lennon. And Freddie definitely beats anyone today.

  • Freddie was absolutely right when he pointed out that no matter what journalists said, the public liked Queens music and still bought the records. No amount of spite from the journalists changed the fans minds, the music was all.

  • "the public have their own mind" (Y)

  • @DrHaZyM i wasn't watching the screen at the moment he started speaking, but as soon as i heard it i knew it was him. it makes me wonder about the life he had growing up.

  • <3 freddies brown eyes

  • @singningwongho Queen did perform in New Zealand. They performed in Auckland, NZ on April 13, 1985 at the Mount Smart Stadium.

  • @Yo1969Yo To be fair though Bohemian Rhapsody has been declared the best song ever written, by most of the musical world and this must say a lot about Freddie and his gang.

  • @Yo1969Yo well the people you refer to had different history in music they sang different styles and had different views of life.

They were all masters of their game but for me and i think for very many people a totally different game for each and every one of them.

Can't compare a glorious glam rocker with a pop king a rock'n'roll king or two rock pioneers, it just doesn't work that way.

Great musicians all of them and their music will live on forever.

  • was this just on NZ TV or did they actually come to NZ?

  • freddie has a strong Indian accent :p

  • I think queen is a very talented band and are one of my faves because their music is so interesting and unique. However, my number one fave band is ofcourse the Beatles, because I find their music even better and I also think they are a lot more talented. I mean, look at paul McCartney who is about 70 and yet he still does concerts and tours around the world. I just think the Beatles made this whole revoloution of music and without them I think that many bands wouldnt have made it

  • @cortadew I respect your opinion. The word "musician" covers such a wide range. IMO Freddie & Elvis had the best voices in music, great quality vocals. But Elvis did not write songs.

Even though Michael, Paul & John wrote classics (mainly Paul & John), they did not have great quality vocals.

Freddie had a great quality voice & he solely wrote many classics. Not only did he write the lyrics but also the music to accompany the lyrics.
