  • We just started our food storage but I worry if times get tough people will break into the house and steal what we have, we are thinking of moving further out in the state, We are not in the best of neighborhoods, it's beginning to go down and I know there are a some around here who would break in.

  • @Pippie2010va Do a search on YouTube about prepping. You want to make sure you have food and water, shelter and heat, and protection. It creates a survival triangle. Without protection (guns, communication, fortification), you cannot protect your food and your home. Without shelter, you have nowhere to stay safe and store your food. And without food, you won't last long (that includes learning how to garden, hunt, fish, can, and preserve. Check out YankeePrepper on YT - great info there.

  • Food storage looks good! Watching this got me thinking it's time to replenish. How do you store your flour? Business has been slow for me as well.

  • @austinsimpleliving

Two ways. I either put the bags into a mylar bag into a 5 gal bucket. Or, I foodsaver seal it. Either way, I put it in the freezer for about 4 days to kill any bugs.

  • That should hold you awile*****

  • Actually, we just finished eating all of it this morning :)

Well, my plan is a good 6 month supply. I have more than that with some items and less with others.

    Thanks!

  • don't you feel more secure , more independent and have alot more peace of mind by prepping......i do..in times of job loss or illness you have the basics to fall back on while your financial resources go towards more impending needs...have always had a pantry since i moved out of home at 19 and mom always had a pantry.learned from one of the best. now i am 53 and i have passed it down to my kids to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. thank you for the vid.
