  • @lindakcolber. I can out run both car also. Probably outrun you to.

  • I drive a 2006 solstice and for not having the turbo, it surprisingly runs good. I can get a second gear scratch with my five speed.

  • LT1 won by a tenth. A win is a win.

  • Bad driver in the Solstice. Looks to be a GXP.

  • I have the Solstice GXP Turbo with Cold Air Induction and it would easily outrun this camaro!!

  • @MurderByFluoride Also, since Pontiac is no longer, the Solstice might hold on to its value surprisingly well since only 5 years worth of models were produced (right? I think it came out with the 2006, our 2007 was the first to have a turbo, and Pontiac was discontinued in 2010).

Either way, the Solstice and Sky are fun cars. We also tested a Nissan 350Z, a Crossfire and a used BMW Z4 to keep in our price range. All great cars, and the Solstice surprisingly handled better than the (used) Z4.

  • @MurderByFluoride Ha. First, I'm wondering why you'd be trading in a functional Jeep for a toy Solstice! I assume/hope you have another car as a daily driver. We tested the Sky before we bought the Solstice, but the Sky didn't have a turbo option at the time. It was very underpowered, but that has changed now. I also enjoy the rounded roadster feel of the Solstice, but I'm not going to lie, there's a Sky around here and I love the angles. Chicks do seem to dig the bright yellow Solstice, though.

  • @MurderByFluoride I drive the 2007 GXP. I figured LT1 had more hp and torque, but now that I look at it the car is only sitting around 275-300hp, and 330-340 ft-lb depending on the year. Also, cars weren't quite as light back then either. Now, it's not so surprising to me that the GXP stood a chance after looking that info up. Either way, cool cars.

  • I love solstice portiac!

  • I drive a solstice. I'm quite surprised it won the race. Must have been an older LT1 (obviously) that's been worn down a bit? No modifications? The Solstice is quick, but a nice LT1 would put it in its place.
