  • I think you can get it in neutral without taking the start button off if you dont press the break at the same time. You should get power on that way also without starting engine. At least most european car models have this safety option that car wont start unless you press brake at the samr time. But, i could be wrong, have to try next time.

    I've had couple ml's that start ok but you cant get the gear to neutral, R or D... Then you need to have special part from MB dealer to get it in neutral
