A version of BWV 1006 Partita 3 prelude done with swing. It's not perfect but I like the feel.
I wanted to try to give it my own feel to make it worthwhile as there are some brilliant versions of this piece on YouTube, and I'm not out to compete with them. .

I've not found any in swing feel so this is my attempt.
I will be working on it and may post another.

  • This is incredible! I need to record my version of the original! The first arpeggiated section of your version needs working on, it doesn't fit with the backing tracking..

I can't believe that your managing to play to play it all with a plectrum! It's hard enough on a classical guitar!

  • Cheers. have you checked out my trio version on the PD3withDP channel? Let me know when you upload yours. Pete

  • @PD3withDP Sounds great! But i'm not sure why you would want to bring up the second half of the arpeggios, the only reason that I can think of is that it makes it easier to play! You need huge hands to play it in normal position. Did you learn it of the Lute Suite transcription?

  • Cheers. I brought up second half of the A arpeggios because I prefer the sound. The stretches are there in the first half. This version is based on the violin partita not the lute suite. I think it works much better on violin because of the higher pitch. It gets too thick at this point with the low open A string in the guitar (Koonce) transcription and the guitar version is already a compromise.

  • sounded great with the swing feel. great interpretation, i enjoyed watching it :)

  • Thanks. Please heck out the band version on my channel. Pete

  • As a lifelong fan and student of the classical guitar I only played this video out of curiosity and I fully expected to find it dissappointing and clumsily done. But guess what......I LOVED IT!! Just brilliantly executed and great fun. Congratulations on a great piece of work! .... just goes to show WHATEVER you do to Bach it is still Bach and still awesome!

  • in guitar is most easy than play in violin!!

  • This is thr best version for sure sir! Any way for getting backing track? Tabs? Would be awesome!

  • Is there a way for getting backing track? And the tabs? It would be awesome to have them!
