James Kalm scurries through this Joyce Pensato painting exhibition just before closing time in a race with the clock. Pinsato occupies an almost mythic realm among art enthusiasts. As a long-time member of the Williamsburg painter's community she is admired for her consistent commitment to the medium, as well as her mindboggling obsessive technique in capturing her imagery.

I stand corrected (when we spoke you'd mentioned BIG buckets, I assumed... the heat story was a rumor from a mutual friend named Alun), thanks JK

  • A cloven, strangulated penis. The inclusion of eyes may be an imminent evolutionary development. Being, afterall, just an extension of the collocated brain. The optic nerve doesn't even bother to fully cross hemispheres as the peripheral nerves do. Anatomic visionary. BTW, what word did you use at 3:50?
