The weaver's machine is impressive. The machine takes up the entire room- which is a family's home! Weavers in this co-op live in a hostel like situation. Each family has a room which has a sari weaver machine in it. The machine is purchased by the weaver. The family will sleep on the floor under the machine. We came to know about this co-op because they are related to my friends in Kanchipuram.

The interviewee mentions machines come from far places, machines are not made in Kanchipuram. I forget what they said, but I think it takes about 2 weeks to make one sari- that is with 8 hours plus a day weaving. See video for some details.
