  • Is there a mix of female and male koi in your pond.. if so have any of them laid eggs...

  • @12Johnnguyen

Eggs every year. They get eaten as no plants for eggs to hide out in. 10 years ago I harvested some eggs, 100 babies. Still have 2 of the nicer ones, gave the rest away.

  • @12Johnnguyen

Every year for the last 18 years. Have only saved babies once as they eat the eggs. No plants in my ponds, no place for the eggs to attach and hide. Saved some eggs once 10 years ago and still have two of the fish. Rest were given away. These fish were in another pond at our old home until 3 years ago.

  • Rangen food in the summer. Our club buys it in large quantities. High Protein. Fall and winter use wheat germ based food. Keep the water above 50 degrees with the well water which is 60 degrees year round.

  • Where did you get the Koi, and for how much«««««««

  • @12Johnnguyen

Several from a dealer in Oklahoma. $200 for a couple, the rest did video work and traded for them, kept my wife happy that way. No money had to change hands.

  • @theunknownable1 You can... but you don't want to do that. You are bad for the fish - you have too many chemicals and stuff on your skin and hair. And besides, the fish are having sex in there!

  • So you put the fish in before the pond was finished??? One spill from the screed mixer, one leak from the liner, one leak from any of the chemicals used......... and all the fish are dead!

Really good result, the pond looks great, but please, build the thing then add the livestock!

  • Don't mind if I ask but can you swim in the pond with the fishes? Is it ok to do that? Just asking because I'm curious.

  • Totally awesome!

  • @KarlaCervantes89

Yes, if you watch the video until the end, there I am in the water.

  • @TheHawkfan61 You did a good job at utilizing your resources. Good Job!

Nope, overflow pipe takes care of it.
