No sooner do we remark to a friend that "it's a shame Woodenbox haven't pushed on a bit" than impressively-sideburned frontman Ali Downer tells the T Break tent "this is the biggest crowd we've ever played to".
Given how long they've been around, and how well-received last year's Home and the Wild Hunt was, that has to come as a surprise. It's true though: T Break is packed, and it's not even raining.
Being shorn of the 'and a Fistful of Fivers' part of their name - this is certainly no Downer solo show, there's seven of them - seems to have had no negative effect and the crowd lap up their raucous mariachi stomp as if they'd paid their entrance fee for Woodenbox alone.
The record crowd witness a fine performance, and it's a party atmosphere as members of the Horndog Brass Band swell those on stage wielding a brass instrument to six. Let's hope they can indeed 'push on' from here. [SL]

Review from The Sun
by Gordon Smart - Showbiz editor.
EXPECT a stampede for next year's T In The Park tickets.
With Glastonbury rested in 2012, the Scottish festival will be the best summer ticket money can buy.
Highlights this weekend included Coldplay, Primal Scream, Swedish House Mafia, Deadmau5 and a new unsigned band called Woodenbox. They'll go far.
Foo Fighters made a noise the local residents won't forget in a hurry.
Despite heavy rain the ground remained firm at Balado near Kinross - the same can't be said of Glasto's Worthy Farm.
Festival chief and top bloke Geoff Ellis will have his pick of headliners next year. Get online now to buy your tickets for next year - you won't want to miss it.
