A nightmare today and for 40,30 or 20 years. But for 30 years this all without mobilephones, satellite communication, DKV(creditcards) and more! Trucks without all the things they "must" have today. Not 500 or more PS! But we know what we must doing on our trips. And now we´ve all this young drivers with a big mouth and no brain...

My first trip to Iran was in July 1976 the road to the Arch at Barzigan was stone chips I recall an F89 with a Flexi Rent tilt in the compound on the Turk side the tilt ripped it was loaded with cardboard boxes of Coke concentrate. Through the arch we went and down to the Iran side A parking area on the slope on the left. The customs was in a 40ft box with a hole cut in the side. The cafe sold twinnings tea. I lost a pair of shoes, stolen by a "Turk" he left his on the road. Happy days gone
