hey. thanks for checking out the article! the sad truth is that the type of 'farm' that is discussed in the article and that is portrayed in the pictures that you showed make up 95% of the dairy industry. nice green farms with happy cows are very hard to come by. did you know that if a milk truck spills on the highway, its considered toxic waste and a hazardous waste team has to come clean it up? why would we want to put that into our bodies? Gross.

Ugh that is really nasty and terrible...I have been reading up on Soy and apparently that isn't too great for you either because of the high amounts of estrogen in it. My cousin suggested I try almond milk. Either way, I'm still cutting out dairy.

well, soy like anything really, is good in portions. eating a large amount of anything is bad. my favorite milks are almond, hemp, or rice!

Oh yes she was telling me about hemp as well. Lots of protein in it, right? Luckily, there are tons of wholefood stores here in the city so I should be able to find some good stuff. The only problem is I don't have a fridge in my dorm so I have no way to store anything.

I know it's not /all/ farms, but it's still nasty to think about. I think you should own a cow, Cat!! You'd be a good cow owner.

that article focuses on the dirtiest dairy farms they can possibly find. believe me. not all dairy farms, and especially the ones we get our milk from, are like that. the ones here are extremely clean, and the cows are taken care of to the extreme, because alot more goes into milking then you think. i have my labs at a dairy farm and i might join the CREAM program where you own your own cow. but we'll see, but don't believe everything you read laurbs. they're scare tactics.
