All the planets in our solar system affect the earth plane in a significant way. The planets are the packets of energy that has tremendous influence on human affairs, human body and mind and whatever happens even in planet life is directly due to the impact of the influence from the planets.
Here I am going to concern myself only with the planet - the Moon because it is a quickly moving planet. The planets are called "grahai" in Sanskrit which means store house which attract and stores energy. Because the moon moves very quickly, the impact of the moon is very precious, in terms of finding a quick solution to our problems, all the other planets moves very slowly.

In this presentation I am going to only talk about the 4th Moon. The 4th moon is sacred for the God Ganesha, who is the remover of obstacles. And one particular 4th moon is called, that 4th moon that frees you from problems or demolishes your obstacles,
Sankhada Chathurthi, the 4th moon that removes obstacles in a significant way and I am interested in this because life is full of obstacles. There is nobody who doesn't have obstacles. Even a disease is an obstacle or a failure is an obstacle, delay is an obstacle and disagreement is an obstacle. Life is full of obstacles but then we need some help and the help has to come from some intelligence which is higher than our intelligence. because Obstacle is something that is unforeseen.
You start a project but you don't anticipate that something is going to happen, this happens everywhere. We are unable to foresee what is going to happen because the future is not available to us at the time of the present. There is this energy represented by the God Ganesha, who knows the future and he can help to avoid the problems, provided, if you are able to establish a contact with him. So he represents supreme intelligence that can know the past present and the future. And Yogis are very particular, even the Gods are very particular to seek Ganesha's translect before they do anything because he is able to remove the obstacle that has not yet come. So that is the advantage of worshiping Ganesha or being in contact with him.

To one ritual that I have experimented and founded to be very very useful is breaking coconuts. Coconuts represents a human being, it's a surrogate human being so one can transfer one's Karma to the coconut and when the coconut receives the Karma, it can diffuse it when you break the coconut, that is the philosophy behind breaking the coconut. The coconut also has also 3 eyes like the human beings have. So one of the rituals I teach for my students is Just take a coconut and bring it near your head and just imaginarily pass on your Karma to the coconut and break it and people had miraculous results from these rituals. But if you do it on this special obstacle dissolving 4th Moon called Sankatahara Chaturthi the effect is a lot more found than other days because that day we have direct access to Ganesha. I generally recommend at least a 4 coconut representing the 4 phases of the moon this 4th moon. But you can go upto any number of coconuts, thousands, but make sure that it is 108, 1008 or even 10008 coconuts breaking and these coconut breaking will be very very effective as per as the removing the obstacles are concerned. There is the proof you have to do it and then find it for yourself, if it works or not. In my opinion and in my experience I have found that nothing works as good as this coconut breaking ritual, especially when you do large number of coconuts. You can do these rituals easily in India because coconuts are not that expensive as it is in the west.

During the last Ganesh Chaturthi, that is the 4th moon dedicated to the birth of Ganesha. We have several thousands truck loads of coconut that people had sponsored for breaking and miraculously Ganesha brought me to the side, I was not going to go there. But it so happened that the trucks got delayed and in a miraculous way may be Ganesha created the obstacles so that he wanted me to be at the spot of breaking the coconuts and then I broke the first coconut and then everybody started doing it later on we had to hire a bunch of people to threw the coconut.

So the 4th moon, any 4th moon you can do this ritual, particularly the Sankatahara Chaturthi is the most important one.
