In Europe, it appears, it is fashionable and politically correct to criticise states that were former colonies and to romanticise “tribal peoples” as a form of wildlife that insists on keeping running around with bows and arrows and making fire with a fire-drill rather than striking a match. .Most of this is just jealousy against a successful African government which is trying to do what is best for its people.

Many batswana aren't against basarwa's advocacy to retain their way of life, but when SI get sensationalist by claiming that 'basarwa will die if they don't hunt, so we should boycott botswana diamonds' they portray the san to be weaklings. A lot have chosen urban life and they are still alive, they are policemen, soldiers, in health care every where and healthy.

these people are citizens of Botswana and should receive services which are the rights of every single motswana, however i would like to hear their advocacy groups articulate themselves clearly and gov being more pliable because they should be able to preserve their way of life but not be disadvantaged in the receiving health care which is a matter of life and death in this era of hiv/aids.

dont lie or sensationalise, it is not a genocide. an attempt to move people to a place with centralised resources shouldnt be demonised, it would be easier to provide services for them for example, many basarwa choose to send their children to school but getting them to school each term is a challenge. the issue i have a problem with is hunting restrictions because if the basarwa want to hunt they should be able to do this
