Everybody loves Raymond - The Barones speak Italian

I Barone parlono italiano.
This collection of scenes in Italian is from the episode of Everybody loves Raymond called 'Mia Famiglia' in season two. An obscure aunt from Sicily comes and stays with the Barones. From listening to them speak I can say that Raymond has good pronunciation, Frank and Robert have average pronunciation and Maree has pretty terrible pronunciation.

Italian Americans are very removed from modern Italian culture. And even in families where the language and culture have been passed down. Most I-Ams are acutely (very poignantly) aware of this difference So CTFO.

It is actually realistic that speech would be rusty and their pronunciation very bad because they have not spoken it in 30 years.  But, if you watch the whole episode you'd see that the tia can't speak english so the bar ones are communicating out of necessity. give credit for trying
