This sunken volcanic crater is a snorkelers paradise with clear, shallow waters, and is known for its abundant coral reefs and tropical marine life. Encounter Hawaiian green sea turtles, manta rays, and colorful tropical fish, such as the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, the Hawaii state fish. Winter hours are 6 a.m.-6 p.m., the preserve is closed all day on Tuesdays. Entrance fee is $1 per car, $5 per person. Masks, fins, snorkels and lockers are
available for rent at the beach.
